Hosted by the Pine Island Baseball Association (PIBA), this competitive youth baseball tournament welcomes teams for a fun, action-packed day. We’re seeking 6 total teams—spots filled first-come, first-served based on registration and payment.
Tournament Details
- Entry Fee: $300 per team
- Guaranteed Games: 3 games per team
- Amenities: Food trucks and concessions planned
- Registration Deadline: April 15, 2026
Rules & Eligibility
Rules are similar to ZVL (Zumbro Valley League) 11U guidelines. All sportsmanship and safety rules from the ZVL website apply and will be enforced. Pool play and brackets available no later than one week before the tournament.
Game Rules
- 5 inning games; no new inning after 75 minutes of playing time (coaches/umpires agree on start time at first pitch)
- Home/Away decided by coin toss
- If tied after 5 innings: up to 2 extra innings, with last inning starting runner at 2nd base
- Tie Breaker: Team that “wins” more innings
- Tie Breaker 2: Coin toss
- 10-run rule: Game ends after 3.5 innings (or 4 innings if home team leading) by more than 10 runs
- Encourage tempo play: Limit warm-ups, quick transitions between innings
- Field playability determined by host team and tournament director (rain/weather)
Baserunning Rules
- No leading off
- Runners may steal any base after the ball crosses home plate
- No metal spikes
- Courtesy runner allowed for catcher at any time (last batted out is the runner)
- Runners must slide on all close plays (umpire discretion)
Hitting Rules
- Dropped 3rd strike is an out
- Continuous batting order; free substitutions; all players must bat in order
- Bats (for 11 year olds): Maximum diameter 2 ¾” or less at thickest part, UNLIMITED weight differential, must have USSSA or USA mark and meet Bat Performance Standards; wood bats allowed
Pitching/Fielding Rules
- 50 pitches per game limit; 80 total pitches for the tournament
- If pitcher reaches 50th pitch mid-at-bat, allowed to finish the at-bat
- No balks called, but umpire will warn pitcher if it occurs
- 9 defensive players on field
- Catcher interference called; batter awarded base
